Sam: Everyone makes mistakes. Even I can make mistakes.
Sam: Working societies have paths for forgiveness. Societies that toss people out after one error lose a lot of talent and the learning from that mistake. That leads to risk averse societies that are timid and boring.
Sam: You don't have to worry about that as long as I'm here. If the society I'm living in becomes timid and boring, then I've made a mistake.
